Connecting Alumni, Supporting Youth, and Preserving the Legacy of Scouting

The Council Alumni Committee exists to keep former Scouts, adult leaders, camp staff, and supporters connected to the mission of Scouting America. Whether you were a Cub Scout decades ago, served on summer camp staff, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, or guided a unit as an adult volunteer, your journey in Scouting doesn’t end when you turn 18 or step down from a leadership roleβ€”you are an alumnus for life!

Our committee works to foster a lifelong community of Scouters through networking events, fellowship gatherings, service projects, and the formal recognition of alumni who continue to make an extraordinary impact in their careers and communities.

Purpose of the Council Alumni Committee

The Alumni Committee serves as the bridge between past Scouting experiences and the future of our local council. Our core objectives include:

  • Fostering Lifelong Engagement: Creating opportunities for alumni to reconnect with lifelong friends, network professionally, and stay informed about local Scouting initiatives.

  • Supporting Active Scouting Programs: Connecting alumni back to active units, camp maintenance projects, merit badge counseling, and high-adventure programs.

  • Preserving Scouting History & Heritage: Celebrating the rich history of our council, camp facilities, and past leaders to inspire future generations.

  • Administering Alumni Awards & Recognition: Identifying and honoring outstanding former Scouts, adult volunteers, and community educators through council-wide recognition programs.

Who is a Scouting Alumnus?

You don’t need to currently hold a leadership position to be a part of our alumni network. You are considered a Scouting alumnus if you are a:

  • Former Cub Scout, Scout BSA, Venturer, Sea Scout, or Explorer

  • Former or current adult leader, committee member, or merit badge counselor

  • Former camp staff member or Order of the Arrow member

  • Parent, family member, donor, or active community supporter of Scouting
