Invest in the Future: Support Our Friends of Scouting Campaign
Every youth deserves the chance to explore the great outdoors, build lifelong friendships, develop essential leadership skills, and character that lasts a lifetime. At our Council, we are dedicated to delivering these life-changing experiences—but we cannot do it alone.
Friends of Scouting (FOS) is our annual giving campaign. It is the cornerstone of our funding, directly supporting the local staff, resources, and camp facilities that make Scouting in Central New Jersey and the Jersey Shore possible.
Why Your Support Matters
Did you know that it costs over $500 per year to deliver the full, high-quality Scouting experience to just one youth?
Many families are surprised to learn how our council is funded:
Zero Government or United Way Funding: Our Council operates entirely on private donations, special events, and local camp revenues. We do not receive financial aid from government sources or United Way Community Care dollars.
100% of Registration Fees Go Elsewhere: None of the membership fees you pay to register a Scout stay with our local council. Every dollar of those fees goes directly to the National Scouting America organization or is used to cover essential insurance costs.
Keeping Camps & Programs Alive: Your FOS contributions directly fund the upkeep of our premier camping properties, maintain our registration and record-keeping systems, and support our dedicated field staff who guide local units.
With your help, we can ensure that Scouting remains affordable, accessible, and exceptional for every family in our community.
Bring Friends of Scouting to Your Unit
Is your Pack, Troop, Crew, or Ship ready to support the campaign? We make it easy and inspiring. You can host an FOS presentation at an upcoming Blue & Gold banquet, court of honor, or parent meeting to show families how their contributions keep Scouting strong.
