Hands-On Service Building Strong Camps for Scouting’s Future

Our camping properties are the heart of our council’s outdoor adventure programs. Behind every safe lodge, sturdy campsite shelter, well-maintained rifle range, and scenic hiking trail is the dedicated work of The Campbuilders Corps.

The Campbuilders Corps is a passionate group of volunteers—trade professionals, skilled craftspeople, and eager adult helpers—who dedicate their time, tools, and talent to maintaining, renovating, and constructing facilities across our council camps.

What We Do

Campbuilders handle a wide range of projects throughout the year, ensuring our properties remain safe, modern, and inspiring for thousands of Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA members, and Venturers.

Examples of Campbuilders Projects:
  • 🔨 Carpentry & Construction: Rebuilding campsite latrines, constructing pavilions, repairing tent platforms, and upgrading cabin bunks.

  • Electrical & Plumbing: Maintaining cabin heating systems, upgrading campsite lighting, and servicing seasonal water lines.

  • 🌲 Trail & Site Maintenance: Clearing storm damage, building footbridges, improving fire circles, and installing erosion control.

  • 🎨 Facility Upgrades: Painting lodges, renovating shower houses, and modernizing program areas (shooting ranges, waterfront docks, and dining halls).

Who Can Join

Anyone with a willingness to lend a hand is welcome! You do not need to be a licensed contractor or master carpenter to make a major impact.

  • Skilled Tradespeople: Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, masons, roofers, HVAC technicians, and heavy equipment operators.

  • Handy Volunteers: DIY enthusiasts, homeowners with basic tool knowledge, and anyone who enjoys active, hands-on outdoor work.

  • Service Groups & Unit Leaders: Scoutmasters, committee members, and parent volunteers looking for a rewarding way to give back to camp.

🛠️ Scout Service Projects: Looking for a service project for your troop, crew, or OA chapter? The Campbuilders Corps frequently coordinates troop workday projects and Eagle Scout service projects!
