Advancement

Providing enriching Scouting experiences for youth across New Jersey since 1917.

In Scouting, advancement is the path youth follow to progress from rank to rank. However, rank advancement is not the ultimate goal; rather, it is a tool to facilitate personal growth. Every step taken to earn a new rank—from the moment a young person joins until they graduate from the program—is designed to provide an engaging, educational, and fun experience. The heart of Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, and Venturing advancement lies in the positive development a young person undergoes through active participation in their unit’s activities.
